Most wedding ceremonies sound like most other wedding ceremonies. Mine don’t. I’ve never performed the same ceremony twice, because no two couples are the same.
Lise was the perfect officiant for our non-traditional celebration on a cruiser boat on Okanagan Lake – 18 people in 3 boats, with the central boat as the wedding platform. She was great at keeping everyone involved.

Lise created a video-game style ceremony for us as my husband is a big gamer. Our guests answered questions about our relationship, and if they got it right, we got to level up and take a step closer to each other. They got one wrong and we had to take a step backwards. It was hilarious! At the final level, I surprised my new husband by giving him the ring his best friend had worn before he passed. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place. When it came to the vows, I didn’t say it loudly enough so I had to say it again and ended up yelling I DO! Our ceremony was beyond anything we could have imagined.

Wedding Experience Activities
For couples who want more than a script and a procession, I design hands-on experiences that invite people to play, connect, and pay attention. That might look like paint and canvases instead of pews, blindfolded dinners that turn into laughter and conversation, movement woven into the ceremony itself, or simple activities that help guests — many of whom have never met — actually get to know each other.
Because we had met at a dance class, Lise included a surprise Latin-dance class right in the middle of the ceremony. It got everyone up out of their chairs, dancing and laughing.
